What is the difference between TPR soft adhesive material and silicone
Release time:2025-03-06      Clicks:1110

The Chinese name of TPR soft rubber is thermoplastic rubber, which is a different material from silicone. But they have a common feature, that is, they are environmentally friendly materials, will not cause harm to the human body.

The resilience, high temperature resistance and chemical resistance of TPR soft adhesive material are not as good as that of silica gel. However, compared with silicone materials, TPR soft rubber materials can be quickly processed and formed, and its processing materials can be completely recycled. In some areas that require coating, TPR soft adhesive materials show better material matching and adaptability than silica gel.

TPR soft glue

TPR soft rubber materials are widely used in daily necessities, hardware tools, bags and wheels, sports equipment, toy products, auto parts, medical supplies, wire and cable, electronic appliances, communication instruments and footwear products. Among them, in the shoe and toy industries, the main role played by TPR soft adhesive is to act as SBS substrate. The modified TPR soft adhesive materials based on SEBS are mainly used for aging resistance, weather resistance, material properties, high tensile strength and ultra-low material hardness (less than 5% Shore hardness).

Compared with TPR soft adhesive materials, silica gel has good resilience and deformation resistance, good aging resistance, high temperature resistance, chemical resistance, and it is also non-toxic. However, silicone also has some disadvantages compared with TPR soft rubber materials, such as its long molding cycle, low production efficiency, and the material is not recyclable.

The main component of silicone is silicon dioxide, and the chemical properties of this substance are stable and non-flammable.

Unlike TPR soft glue, silica gel has a strong adsorption capacity and can absorb the surrounding water, so it can dry human skin. Therefore, wear overalls when performing operations related to silicone production. If silicone gets into your eyes, rinse with plenty of water and seek medical attention as soon as possible.

There is also a colored silica gel in the silica gel, that is, blue silica gel, which contains a small amount of cobalt chloride and is potentially toxic. During daily contact, avoid contact with food and inhalation. If poisoned, seek immediate medical attention.

During the use of silica gel, it will reduce the adsorption capacity because it absorbs water vapor or other organic matter in the medium, but it can be reused after it is reprocessed.

Silicone is often used in the production of copiers, keyboards, electronic dictionaries, remote controls, toys, silicone keys, durable molding gaskets, packaging materials for electronic parts, automotive electronic parts maintenance materials; There are also electronic components, molded high resolution crimped connectors; The types of silicone can be divided into: conductive silicone, medical silicone, foamed silicone, molded silicone;
